ReadyCLOUD VPN Disconnected
I have set up remote access to a ReadyNAS 212 (6.10.3 )for a customer. It was working fine in my office and I reinstalled the equipment in their office this week. Customer gets a "Connected (VPN disconnected) message when he tries to connected remotely using the ReadyCLOUD app (connects fine when he is in the office). His PC has Win10 2004 and was connecting OK when I did my initial tests
I have tried to connect remotely using my main PC (Win 7H) and a spare PC (Win7H) and get the same message BUT I can connect using my laptop (Win10Pro 1909) and another spare PC running Win10H 2004, all 4 machines on the same network.
Tests have been done using both my account and that of the customer, ReadyCLOUD client is 1.2 in all cases. All machines have acces via readycloud.netgear.com
Anyone have any thoughts as why some machines are having problems connecting whilst others aren't ?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Say42,
Can you try assigning a static DNS on the NAS? You can use Google's public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or the router's IP address.
You can also try disabling the security software installed on the computer and see if that helps.

Thanks for your reply, it made me check a few things
I now have 2 W10 machines on a network that can connect, PC 1 now has a static IP of 8.8.8.8 and wasn't connecting until I changed the DNS setting but I have just reset it back to automatic and it still connects. PC2 uses the ISP router's address which in turn uses the ISP's DNS Server (can't be changed) and has always connected.
I have 2 other PCs behind another router so effectively on another network. 1 (Win7) which won't connect (but did during my original tests) and another W10 using wifi which connects without a problem.
I have just notice that on the 3 W10 machines there is a network adaptor shown that is identified as "Leaf Networks Adaptor", this doesn't exist on the Win7 machine, is this significant? I have reinstalled the ReadyCLOUD client on the Win7 machine this morning. Thanks for any suggestions

The Leaf adapter is the ReadyCloud VPN (Netgear purchased Leaf Networks in 2010, and uses that tech in ReadyCloud). Did you try rebooting the Win7 PC after the install?

Do you mean the DNS setting was 8.8.8.8 ??? Or the actual IP address of the PC? 8.8.8.8 is Google's public DNS server (along with 8.8.4.4). That should find the ReadyCloud servers with no problems.
