ReadyNAS 102- S.N. 3ERC4AE200216 - wrong dir/file management
Something happens when I add a folder called "J11-Roncadelle 17-09-2017" to the data previously stored on disk, using the web page provided by "readycloud.netgear.com".
in details:
I start from a rumor that all devices that connect to NAS see the correct situation (Samsung TV - STB Humax - VLC on Samsung smartphones)
I add the folder "J11-Roncadelle 17-09-2017" under the path \ nas ....... \ Photos-Movies \ 2017 \ 0-MTB
the system goes crazy
through the web page everything is ok (attached)
BUT
all devices see
- The 2017 folder is duplicated about 1000 times, all of them are (attached)
- The added folder is in a wrong place and it is empty (attached)

Hello TheBraf,
It does appear that after adding a specific folder on the NAS the system goes crazy. When the system goes crazy, can you give more detail about the behavior of the NAS. Can you give screenshot of the error you are getting and the directory where the specific folder is created. Have you tried creating a folder using simple name without using special character - and space? What firmware is the NAS running at?

Hi Marty,
attached the screenshot of what a I see from the PC
and the picture of what I see on the TVTV-KO-2PC - OKTV-KO-1
I've performed further tests
1-
I noticed both ReadyDLNA and SMB services were enabled
I disabled the ReadyDLNA (SMB only) service and from VLC-Phone ONLY I see files on NAS in the correct way, BUT of course TV and STB does not support SMB
enabling ReadyDLNA only (no SMB) the wrong state comes again2-
I removed, by means of web-page the forlder "2017" (parent of "J11-....")
from browser I see the right state, but on TV I still see the "J11-...." folder3-
I deletd the VOLUME related to the disc
I re-installed the VOLUME related to pictures
I backupped from external USB3 disc the complete tree (with "2017" and "J11-...." folders)
all devices see the NAS files in the right way .....
..... but I do not think this is a solutionabout your questions:
Have you tried creating a folder using simple name without using special character - and space?
>>> yes, I renamed the "J11-...." into "test", but I still see the "J11-...." folderWhat firmware is the NAS running
>>> 6.8.0the directory where the specific folder is created.
>>> as you can see fron the screeshot the complete path was
>>> \Foto-Filmati\2017\0-MTB\J11-Roncadelle 17-09-2017
>>> no "strange" char in my opinionMany Thanks

Hello TheBraf,
Please check if Enhance macOS feature under SMB is enabled. If so please try to disable it and check if that will help. Firmware version 6.8.1 is now officially available you may want to upgrade the firmware and check if that will make any difference.
