ReadyNas 314 with FW 6.4.0: USB problem and buffering problems

Hey there,

i just updated my ReadyNas 314 to 6.4.0.

Since the update i got two problems:

1. the DVB-S Stick PCTV 462e is plugged in permanently. After booting up, dvblink ist unable to detect the stick. I have to unplug/plug the stick to make the software able to detect it. The stick is active powered by an external power supply.

2. since the update i got buffering problems while streaming HD videos. (lags)

Does anyone got an idea what i can do?

Best wishes :)

    Hi Joel,

Can you provide me with the log data? The device might be running other processes that lead to the lag from videos on the NAS. I can double check this for you.

As far as the  "DVB-S Stick PCTV 462e" I'm unsure if this will help but maybe connect it to a computer then eject it and see if it will reconnect.

i just send you the logs.

the TV Stick works fine at my laptop, but it still wasn't detected by my nas after booting the nas. :-(

      Thanks

        Joel,

I do not see anything in the log file that will represent a resource issue, it appears the system should be able to serve video and files via any protocol without issue,

It might come down to how you are using the system. I would do some double checking on the performance,

LAN connect and see if you can stream using SMB or AFP whichever file protocol you use. Try different video players as well and see if you have the same performance. If this issue is strictly an issue with the application DVlink, the only advice I can give you is to uninstall and reinstall the app but it looks like you may have done this already. If the uninstall and the reinstall does not work then you will need to contact the app developer for support.

Also please make sure you do the scheduled maintenance on the Filesystem. Scheduled Maintenance Tasks. Keep in mind that doing scheduled maintenance can cause minor downtime and resources to be used on the system but is essential for sustained system health.
