ReadyNAS "Device is offline"

Trying to reset after catastrophic loss of data following drive failure and failed recovery. System was running perfectly until that time.

Replaced faulty drive.

4x3TB drives.

OS 5.3.11.

RAIDar tells me all discs "healthy".

Tried hard reset of os but only option is normal. No factory default option.

Seems to boot ok.

All four drive LED's on.

ACT LED fast blinking.

Panel reads 10.1.1.8 / C: 4.8/8.1T free

RAIDar locate works fine.

Link to Admin Panel results in "Device is offline".

Tried everything. Any suggestions.

    Hello SimonCurry,

Factory reset will format the disks, deleting the files and settings you have made. I believe you are using ReadyNAS NV+ v2 unit, which is a n OS5. Can you confirm you are following the directions at How do I access the boot menu on my ReadyNAS NV+ v2?

A lot of users get problems with following the instructions directly where they need to keep holding the reset button even after powering on the NAS. It must be held down until the boot menu message shows up.

To access the boot menu, follow these steps:

    1. Power off your storage system.
    2. Using a straightened paper clip, press and hold the Reset button.
    3. Press the Power button to power on the unit.
    4. Continue to press the Reset button until the status display screen shows a boot menu message.
    5. Press the Backup button to scroll through boot mode options.
    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

Thanks for the prompt response. Pretty sure that I followed instructions. Hold reset button down on re-boot brings up boot menu on panel. Only one option tho: Normal. No LED's flash either at 5 sec or 25 secs.

Re-booted using normal setting. Has been attempting to synch from old corrupted disks I believe. Panel reads 10.1.1.8/C: 4.9.8.1T free. Cannot access via control panel. Says "Device is offline". Been running for over 12 hours. Should I perservere? I am assumimg all my data is lost and will revert to backup.
