ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware
Hi,
I've had this problem for a while. Every time I try to upgrade the firmaware using the GUI, I eventually get a message back saying that the update failed:
Fri Oct 12 17:12:13 WEST 2012 Problem encountered while updating your ReadyNAS device.
These are the ReadyNAS details:
Model: ReadyNAS Duo [X-RAID]
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.6 [1.00a043]
Memory: 256 MB [2.5-3-3-7]
Other than that, everything else seems to be working fine.
Thanks
MT

- motah33AspirantYep, definitely doing something now... blue light is flashing away.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe unit would also come and go from RAIDar (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20684/). If you use RAIDar quick enough you should see updating (or something like that) in the Info (far right) column.
- motah33AspirantYep, I can see "updating" in the last column.
- motah33AspirantIt's done but if I hit the rescan on RAIDar it still shows 4.1.6.
- motah33AspirantMust go now. Pick this up later on if you have time. Appreciate all the help.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredVery odd.
Can you do
# cat /etc/raidiator_version
# cat /var/log/raidiator_version
# ls -la /
Do you see more examples of this?:motah33 wrote:

If I run RAIDar, I can see 4.1.6 as the version number. And yes, I still see those messages about the flash device being unknown.
