ReadyNAS NV+ HDD Dying
Hello. I have a ReadyNAS NV+ that just stopped working today. No response from Frontview and the power button did nothing. So I powered off and on. The NAS then did it's checkout and started a Resync. Then I got emails and the NAS Log says the HDD1 ATA error count grew from 203 to 519 and recommends that I replace the drive. Ok, fine, I have a spare drive. My question is: Should I wait for the Resync to finish? It has already hung once at about 3% which I did another power-reset.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredReplace the disk. It is failing/dead
- Negative_Nancy1AspirantYes, I know, but what about the resync that is running? Do I just shut down the nas and replace the disk or wait for the resync to finish?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredNo need to shutdown. Remove the disk and after verifying you can still access your data replace it with a new disk.
