ReadyNAS offline to ReadyCloud after upgrade to 6.5.1

After upgrading to 6.5.1 from 6.5.0, I can no longer connect to my NAS from ReadyCloud. Via ReadyCloud, it shows the drive offline. If I go to the Discover page and follow the procedure (holding the backup button 5-6 sec), it recognizes the drive temporarily and I can manage it from the admin page. Latest log entries below...

  • I have the same issue - Readycloud (app and portal) shows two RN 102 nas as offline ( 1 local and 1 remote) when they clearly are not.  I can access them locally via IP adresses.  Readycloud app (1.12) is on Windows 10.  I have  also have an RN202 running under 6.5.0 which I have not upgraded for obvious reasons and it is shown correctly, locally and remotely.  This happened immediately after the 6.5.1 upgrade from 6.5.0 under which all were shown correctly. Operationaly it's not a problem for me as they are all working fine in my home installations. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

      Hi dellwilson & aussiedeafman,

Does this behavior being experienced if you are logged in as the "Admin" account? Does any of your (SSO) accounts are used as e-mail address in any of your local ReadyNAS users?

      Looking forward to your response.

      Kind regards,

        Hi BrianL

Thank you so much for your response and attempt to assist me. Unfortunately, I'm a bit confused by what you're asking and I'm not sure how to answer. When I originally setup the NAS, I created a ReadyCloud account for myself and, since I don't see that account in the admin page of my NAS, I'm guessing that ReadyCloud account was mapped to admin locally. I was recently forced to change to a MyNetGear account tied to my email address. Does that answer your questions?

  • I wonder if this has something to do with http settings?  That's not enabled in most of my shares.  What abut the settings screen in ReadyCloud, how should that be set up?

Stil cannot access shares via readycloud on any device, only via admin screen on local network or via explorer.  Seems so many people are having this problem, such an important feature for readynas to have remote access.  Please help.

    Thanks as always!

no, http settings has nothing to do with it.  i got back in town and forced a reboot with the power button and now everything works fine.

lessons learned: Netgear programmers are subpar and should always expect bugs and NEVER upgrade the firmware when you do not have physical access to the ReadyNAS device.
