Readynas RN104 not powering up and 4 months out of warranty

Readynas RN104, Firmware and O/S unknown, Raid 5. Followed troubleshooting suggestions of Beer4Cheer from another post. Still no luck. Unable to find a replacement power supply or 4 pin power cable (to test latter). Whilst preference is to locate a Netgear repairer to replace the power supply (if this is the issue), my efforts to locate one have been unsuccessful so far. I am reluctant to purchase another Readynas due to cost, concerns about life expectancy and cloud options, however data recovery from NAS disks is critical. Question 1 - if a RN314 is purchased, can existing disks be swapped straight from RN104 to RN314, in relevant order? Question 2 - if 1 is not an option, can data from disks be recovered via other means?

They can be swapped.  It is best to have them on the same firmware version and retain drive order.  Since you will be moving from an ARM to an Intel system, you should remove any aps before doing the transfer.  Since you cannot do that, you may need to put the drives in as-is to copy off the data, do a factory default to erase the apps (but, unfortunately, everything else, too), then restore the data.

I see lots of options for an RN314 power supply.  I suspect that the 104 uses the same one, but cannot confirm because I own neither.   I do see one option for a 104 supply on eBay.
