23 TopicsSnapshots, how to recover more filespace by deleting
I discovered my free space was under 10%. I originally set up shares to make snapshots. I no longer feel the need for snapshots and have turned them off in one share to see how I can recover free space. This one folder showed 54 years of snapshot recovery. Quite ridiculous. Now that I have set the snapshot to 'Never', what next? I did a refresh but still see the snapshots and 10% or less free space. Do I have to wait a certain time for the snapshots to delete or what?Solved1.7KViews0likes4CommentsReadyNAS 104 no accessible after to upgrade 6.9.1 and update PLEX
Hi all, The first thing is to say thank you very much in advance for your help. I have a RN104 since Nov.2015 with 4x6TB in RAID 5 (almost full) with both LAN connected with 2 IP. I upgraded the software to 6.9.1 at the begining of December and it was working ok but at the end of Dec I upgraded the APP Plex and it causes a problem in my RN. It is not accesible from any computer (Windows/Windows Explorer or Mac/Finder) it is visible but no accesible to any folder and also other folders are new in the root (admin, data and home) Plex is not detecting the Ready NAS Media Server and it is not possible to see nothing in Plex. NAS is accesible in the Admin page and all disk are working ok and also accessible in RAIDar 6.3.0 Ping from Mac with positive feedback. No working in ReadyCloud - Message is NAS doesn't have connection. What I have tried is: -first to reinstall Plex before to be aware the NAS is not accesible (many times but not possible to install). - I decided to reinstall Firmware from Boot Menu - I reinstall 6.9.1 from admin page - I dowgraded to 6.9.0 from admin page - I upgraded to 6.9.1 from admin page ... but nothing worked I really appreciate your help on this because a lot of info in my NAS I would like to preserve ... I am sending also the logs to the email. PS. Sorry about my English (I am from Spain)...4.9KViews0likes22Commentsunable to login through www [ReadyNas 104 10400]
Hello, I have following device: - ReadyNas 104 (RN104) - Operating with 6.0.X software (from what I recall) And I have following problem: - Can't IP access it: This site can’t provide a secure connection 192.168.1.3 doesn't adhere to security standards. ERR_SSL_SERVER_CERT_BAD_FORMAT - earlier I was able to see the login page, but it didn't let me in, the pswd recovery thingy didnt allow me to send a reset, and the password that I used was not accepted (kept reloading the page to show me the login box again) - now I'm still able to access it through Windows and copy forth and back things, and I can still access the admin login page from mobile browser. but. it repeats the problem with relogging the login page. What is wrong, what could be damaged and what is the possible solution for this? I feel a little bit helpless, especially now, when I need to move to a new laptop. Thanks in advance for any help. Upgraded to firmware 6.7.5 through the web interface and now the unit is not responing via the browser at all. SMB share is still working Tried Rebooting Tried Reset via reset pin on back and selecting OS Reinstall - same issue Raidar Diagnostic will not connect, but raidar says unit is healthy ! I cannot download the logs because login is not working, I know the password before someone suggests password recovery. Looking at USB recovery but cannot get the tool to recognise any firmware to make a usb for me. Format USB to Fat32 and put these in root Reboot machine and hold backup for 30 seconds. Machine says booting from usb, then after a few minutes, resets and does FW Upgrade. But the firmware is still 6.7.5 ?? How to do it? What am I doing wrong? I know the issue is network adapter related because "\\192.168.1.101\folder" is working fine, but "\\192.168.1.147\folder" comes up with network error do i want to diagnose? If I factory reset it with different disks in it, can I the set it to x-raid and put back the original disks without losing data? Will factory reset put the original firmware back in or will it use 6.7.5 ? I really want to get this working again :( Many thanks for any help6.3KViews0likes26CommentsReadynas RN104 not powering up and 4 months out of warranty
Readynas RN104, Firmware and O/S unknown, Raid 5. Followed troubleshooting suggestions of Beer4Cheer from another post. Still no luck. Unable to find a replacement power supply or 4 pin power cable (to test latter). Whilst preference is to locate a Netgear repairer to replace the power supply (if this is the issue), my efforts to locate one have been unsuccessful so far. I am reluctant to purchase another Readynas due to cost, concerns about life expectancy and cloud options, however data recovery from NAS disks is critical. Question 1 - if a RN314 is purchased, can existing disks be swapped straight from RN104 to RN314, in relevant order? Question 2 - if 1 is not an option, can data from disks be recovered via other means?669Views0likes1CommentMy volume is gone.
Hello there, I have an issue with my ReadyNAS104 Netgear. First I noticed that I couldn't access my data so I went to the admin page through Google Chrome. As soon as I open the tab I get a message saying this: "No volume exists. NETGEAR recommends that you create a volume before configuring others. Navigate to the System > Volumes page to create a volume". Of course I had my volume set long time ago since this is my data backup NAS. I navigate to System > Volume as the message ask me to do and I get a message there that says "Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1,2,3,4." My volume data usage exceeded 80% of size, my NAS was alerting me that through email in case that is helpful to solve my issue. Please, can someone help me? There's tones of information in that device I need to keep safe. Thanks in advance.6.2KViews0likes15CommentsRAIDar 6.3.0, this latest version is not showing my RN104 on the network, what changed?
Okay, what happened? I've been using RAIDar ever since, well, you know, a long time now. Then, an upgrade comes out. Now I do not see the RN104 in my network. Now there was a recent upgrade for the RN104 too. Can I say exactly when this all started? NO! I wasn't paying that much attention. Until now of course when I want to access the shares and folders by clicking on the NAS icon in my network and then logging in as admin as I always do. Now I have to either log in to the NAS by way of the browser or with the RAIDar utility. It's extra steps now that I didn't have to do before. Please tell me there is another update coming or new release of RIADart correct this? Is anyone else having this problem or have noticed this?Solved4.1KViews0likes3CommentsRN104 Unable to access admin page - Firmware 6.7.3

I have managed to set up my NAS fine, and it has been working brilliantly. I have set up my admin and primary user password but not added any other people's accounts. I have the ReadyNAS RN104 and running OS 6.6.1. I can map a network drive to folders and it asks for passwords but I have noticed that on other pc's on the same network, there is a Network Location for the ReadyNAS visible (with the Netgear logo) and any PC seems to be able to access this without need for an account, let alone a password. I have gone through the shares and edited the permissions to not be anonymous, and even as far as only admin account has access but the automatic network location can still access the files without any protection. I have already had one person access my files on the network without my permission and want to make sure there is only verified access. I can't find anywhere to turn off this 'device' appearing automatically and only allowing access after maping a drive or web access, or at the very least making sure it is password protected. Thanks for any help.Solved5.3KViews0likes2CommentsRemove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1,2,3,4.
