Yes you can install that add-on during the resync, though you can wait too if you prefer. It gets ReadyDLNA to store it's cache on the data volume rather than in /var/cache/minidlna
The log is still stored on the OS partition.
Had you turned debug logging on for ReadyDLNA? Debug logging should be turned off when not needed.
