Any idea when this will be supported :-)

The good news I've seen no signs of stuttering or hanging since expansion. I've just watched a movie while copying other files with no issues.
The only issue to date had been one Reallocated Sector on disk four less than 24 hours after expansion.
bdl99 ... how did you get the firmware upgrade for ST31500341AS SD17... seagate page says its not released and to subscribe to get it? They have not responded to my emails from last week.
thank you Tom
SD1A is posted in this thread... - EtoAspirantAfter296 hours, my CC1H drive is showing:
2 Reallocated Sector Count
1 Current Pending Sector
1 Offline Uncorrectable
1 ATA Error Count
Not too happy with the way things are going... - darwin1Aspirantso far, knock on wood, the 4 1.5TB drives I have in my pro haven't had any reallocated sectors. And also FYI, I have 4 Seagate 750GB drives in my NV. I got a bunch of reallocated sector messages about a year/year and a half ago on it, none since then. And you know what, it's still working just fine. Yeah, annoying that I have I think 40 allocated sectors on 2 drives, but meh, everything is still working.
Edit: 2 reallocated sectors on one CC1H firmware drive. if it hits 10 before Seagate manages to get a firmware out, I guess I'm sending that one back. - bdl99Aspirant

Ah, just confirming, that update is only for the SD drive series, i.e. SD18, SD19, or SD1A is now upgraded to SD1B. There is no update for the CC1H series.... - bdl99Aspirant

That is my thinking/understanding, interestingly I'm not having any problems with my three drives that were SD17 upgraded to SD1A. The only issue I have is reallocated sectors on my one CC1H drive. I'm going to hold off upgrading the SD1As until I hear more feedback on the SD1B firmware. - majayjayAspirantI'm confused. Is CC1H more current than CC1J even though "J" comes after "H"? It seams like everyone is updating and being updated to CC1H and that all the CC1J units are having problems.
- xsnrgAspirantI have heard all sorts of stuff, but none of it direct from Seagate. They are pretty hush on the whole thing, which is rather silly as opposed to publishing the real deal on their website, and squashing rumors.
I just got my last RMA drive from 'egg and it is factory CC1H. This will put my array at 1xCC1J 1xSD1A and 2xCC1H.
The drives that failed me were CC1J and a CC1H. The drives I have so far with 0 errors are CC1H (CC1G upgrade), CC1J, and SD1A
I am sensing no pattern in quality vs firmware what so ever. My 2 failures were reallocation type, in a bad way. - iProb8Guide

I believe CC1J is a later firmware than CC1H, but I'm not positive. I have received four CC1J drives from NewEgg and three CC1G drives from Amazon, all shipped within a week (if not less) of each other. I upgraded the CC1G to CC1H per the updater that Seagate sent me. I then RMA'ed two of the CC1J drives to NewEgg, which sent me two CC1H drives in exchange. I'm not at home now, but when I get home, I'll try to check the date codes to see which drives were manufactured when. I'm guessing it's somewhat random in terms of which firmware is sent by which vendor at any given time and might even depend upon from which warehouse the drive is shipped.
The only problem I've had with some of the CC1J drives is reallocation of sectors. However, I don't think that is necessarily tied to the firmware. I'm not in the IT business, though, so I can't say for certain. - majayjayAspirantI bought the diskless NV+ and (3) 1.5 tb Seagates and received them about 3 weeks ago (All CC1J). So far, I have only installed one of the drives and it already has 1 reallocated sector. These are my first purchases through newegg and I haven't installed the other 2 drives as I have been half expecting to return them and wasn't sure if newegg would be more inclined to return them if they were unopened. I have been waiting it out for some resolution to the firmware issues, but everything I read seams to be speculation with no clear answers from Seagate and Netgear, understandably, still hasn't added them to the hardware compatibility list. I have about 3 days before I need to decide once and for all what I am going to do.
My initial interest in a NAS/RAID box was data redundancy for enhanced security. I am freaked out by all the problems I have been reading about the Seagate 1.5tb & 1tb drives. All these issues sort of defeat the main purpose for which I made the purchase.
I am leaning toward giving up on Seagate drives altogether and going with the Samsung 1tb HD103UJ. The info I find about these drives on the forum is 6 months old so I assume that they are installed and working correctly in a bunch of systems.
Does anyone have any advice for me and others? Should we wait it out and trust that the Seagate drives will be stable and supported by Netgear? How important is it for the drive to be on Netgear's compatibility list? I would love the additional storage offered by the 1.5tb drives, but I can live for several years using the 1tb drives before I would need to add more storage. Anyone have any recent feedback on the Samsung 1tb drives?
Thanks for any comments or feedback to help me decide which direction to proceed!
