Setup email for Virgin Media in UK
Hi
I want to setup my RN104 to send email alerts but it seems that the only encryption setting available for outbound SMTP traffic is TLS but Virgin Media are still prehistoric and only support Implicit SSL (port 465).
Anyway of bypassing the UI and setting up as I assume Netgear will never support this older technology even if Virgin probably are the biggest cable company in the UK?
Any ideas appreciated. I wonder if I'll have to setup my own proxy server using something like hmailserver and forward on.

- juwi_ukTutor*BUMP* anybody? Am I destined to be out of luck setting up email here?
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserDid you try configuring the NAS as TLS with port 465? Most email software will automatically negotiate SSL vs TLS with the SMTP server (though many don't distinguish between TLS and SSL in their settings).
As a workaround you could get a free gmail account, and then set it up to forward mail it receives from the NAS to your virgin media account. Less of a headache then setting up your own proxy server.
