Slow factory reset RN214 with 3 x 1TB drives

I'm swapping from a NV+ to a RN214. All old data is backed up on USB external drive.

I put the 3 1TB drives from the NV+ in the 214 and started the factory reset. 24 hrs later it had only resync'd 13% per the front panel screen. Also when I try to access the 214 with Raidar, it sees it, also shows the % complete and 3 good drive but I cannot access the 214. Is this normal. At the rate it will be a week to complete.

Ps I first tried it with 4 drives. One brand new 1TB drive and the 3 from the NV+ but it kept throwing off a boot operation error.

It's not normal to take a week to complete.  And you should be able to access the admin ui via http://nas-ip-address/admin

If you let it complete, be sure to check the SMART stats before you use the volume.

Were you following the boot menu instructions to do a factory default? (page 57-58 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/ReadyNAS_%20OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf )

Yes I followed.  after I pulled the brand new disk it worked.  Very quickly went to the 10min countdown and then started.

I have gotten into the NAS and all shows greenOnly at 14.8% now. 158hrs to finish per Systems/Volume tab - blue dialogue box on left.  On the Systems tab, in the Overview, Volume and Performance subtabs all looks green.  In Volume tab, the 3 drive have green lights.  When clicked on each of the 3 drives, I gets a text box that doesn't appear to show anything bad.

However, On another thread, I saw a graph of system performance.  I can't seem to find that to see what the CPU might have running as well.

There is no count-down on the RN214 - Netgear dropped that with OS6.  Instead you can switch between xraid and flexraid after the install (with no data loss).

It should sync in a couple hours at most, not a week.  Something isn't right.  Maybe let it run for a few more hours, and check again.

Those graphs are only shown on x86 NAS (RN3xx and higher).
