System: Alert message failed to send.
I'm stumped on what's wrong with setting up SMTP details.
Whenever I click "Send Test Message And Apply" I get the message:
Unable to send a test message
Cannot send a test message. Check network settings.
Code: 5008010004
Error from msmtp
The logs are no help all it says is:
System: Alert message failed to send.
Any thoughts on what could be wrong here? Not really sure what to check for with the obscure error message.

fastmail.com
No idea what's wrong with connecting to that account.
To get things working, I used gmail with similar settings. Even using an app password. Seems to work fine. I'd still like to know what that cryptic error code means - might help me figure out what's wrong with my fastmail connection.

Maybe download the log zip file, and look for more details in there.
You tried both ports - 465 and 587? I imagine you checked your spam filter.
You can of course send it using gmail to a fastmail address.
