trying to setup rsync job nas to nas with path
I'm trying to setup a pull backup job from NASPRO to NASNV+. I want to backup "sharename/folder/innerfolder" to "newnasshare/innerfolder".
I've set the soource host to the IP (same subnet) of NASPRO, and the path to "sharename".
Clicking test it says ok.
Changing the source path to "sharename/folder" test gives an error.
Ok... how do I specify a source path for the sharename, a first folder, and then the inner folder name that I want to backup to local sharename folder name?
Thanks

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSo the backup job is running on the NV+. Did you enable Rsync for the source share on the Pro?
Try running the backup job anyway even though the test connection gave an error. That path looks correct.
Or better yet create a test share on each NAS and experiment backing up between those. Then when you are comfortable with that create backup jobs for your important files. - tenneyAspirantWell... ignoring that the "test connection" didn't work, I did try running the job as suggested.
It failed:
"Error encountered copying data from remote source path 10.1.1.22::media/AppStore ==> /media2/redux due to empty source directory."
Strange because I can mount "media" and see everything in the "AppStore" folder just fine. So I tried a couple of other folders in "media" and got the same failure message despite each of those folders containing a variety of files in them.
Any idea why the rsync job gives that "empty source directory" message all the time?
(it would be nice if the test connection worked, too) - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredHave you enabled Rsync on the media share on the Pro?
- tenneyAspirantrsync enabled of course... before I even started trying rsync backups.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWhat firmware are you running on the two NAS?
- tenneyAspirantThe pro needs to be upgraded, but it's at 4.1.14, and the NV+ is at RAIDiator 4.2.19.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI think you mean the NV+ is running 4.1.14 and the Pro is running 4.2.19
4.2.19 was released in September 2011: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=56654
You probably need to update the firmware on the Pro to get some fixes for Rsync. - tenneyAspirantOk. Updated the pro (which is the rsync job's source nas) to 4.2.27
Same problem; No change. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredCan you send me the logs from each of your units (see the link in my sig)?
- tenneyAspirantNo offense, but is there a way to PM you just parts of the log that won't include anything too private?
