Unable to create new user accounts or amend existing user accounts on a RN202
ReadyNAS 202, Firmware 6.6.0 I have been trying to amend existing users which were created back when I first installed and configured the readyNAS on firmware 6.5.1 dated in July 2016, however if...

Hi FramerV
I've now figured out what was happening and thankfully it was something simple, the name of the share was the same and the user name so although I was able to set this up with the same names at outset, this does seem to prevent any amendments to the account being made and also if the account is deleted, it cannot be set up again using the same name. I've now changed the names of the shares and re-created the accounts as well as amending the accounts so the problem is now solved.
Many thanks for your time.

Hi FramerV
Many thanks for your reply, I have now emailed the logs over now.
I was able to create a new share successfully. Also I noted that I could also create a new User provided it did not contain any of the name from the previous user I had created and then subsequently deleted, in this case the user name was simply 'test'. I deleted this and recreated without issue with a new UID being generated in each instance, so I went back and tried to create a new user with the name I used originally and it is at this point I cannot save the details, also the one user account I have created I still cannot amend the password with the same outcome. All of the original accounts had an email included
I am wondering, if the acounts are set up and then you log into another computer and then log into ReadyNAS share using the email account I added, does this then lock the account in some way as well as prevent you from re-creating the account if you have deleted it?
Many thanks.
