Unable to Sych NAS and access some folders
Hi,
I have already posted this query a couple of days ago but apparentely it was lost somewhere since I cannot find it and have received any replies.
My NAS RN10400 has been active for the last four years but recently when I treid to back up some folders from my laptop, none were trasnferred onto it giving me the attached error mesage. I tried transferring a file between folders and the operation couldn't take place. So although I can download files and folders from the system, I am unable to update anything. I've also noticed that some fodler have become unaccessible albeit I believe that some are empty ones.
There is still plenty of speace of the system and there is no indication that there is any damaged disk.
Any help would be graetly appreciated.

Well, if the system encounters file system errors, it will put the volume into read-only status on it's own (to protect your data).
If the NAS has a new IP address as a result of the router change, then it is also possible that this is a windows credential issue. So you could try going in the Windows Credential Manager. Delete any existing credentials for the NAS and create new ones.

The share name is DELL-PC-Desktop?
Have you looked in the admin web ui? Start by looking in the log for errors. I'm wondering if your volume is in read-only mode. The LCD panel might also give you some info.

Hi,
yes I use such a name. Don't know how it surfaced.
Don't think it is read-only mode. The only think I have done whne this issue cropped up was that I had my router changed. Otherwise, I haven't touched anything.
