Uncontrolled power-ups with RN Pro after Raidar Upg.
After upgrading my ReadyNAS Pro to RAIDiator 4.2.12, I now experience uncontrolled system starts.
System now boots up uncontrolled at least three times a day when turned off.
Of course, scheduler an WoL are disabled.
Any ideas what that might be caused from?
Thanx & Best Regards

- beisser1Tutori had the very same issue with 4.2.12. the nas booted up totally out of the blue whenever it felt leike it.
downgrading to 4.2.11 solved that issue and it fixed another problem for me as well. 4.2.12 reports cpu temps 5°C higher than 4.2.11, which can cause the nas to generate warings about cpu-temp. - BigLeagueAspirantI also have the same problem with the PRO turning on a few minutes after it turns off from a scheduled shutdown. I ended up turning off the auto power feature until they come up with a fix. I also noticed that the PRO was giving me the temperature warnings with new 4.2.12 firmware. I hope they come out with the fix soon.
- Hermes_MucAspirantI also just realized that the RNP from time to time refuses to boot up properly and simply hangs.
Pulling the plug for 30Sec helped, but this workaround is nothing to live with.
I´ll asap downgrade to 4.2.11 and wait for a fix.
Thanx! - ewokNETGEAR ExpertDo you have any power schedule set up? If so, how is it configured, and if not, have you had it configured previously? Do you see anything in your logs (from the logs page in Frontview) indicating a scheduled power up?
- Hermes_MucAspirantAs I said: there was NO schedule activated, Wake on LAN was disabled.
I also encountered the temperature warning mentioned earlier in this thread.
Booting successfully was a gamble, each time - half of my attemps failed.
I just downgraded to .11 and realized that my AFP access rights were all lost.
I am currently re-assigning access-rights and hope that .11 will run as stable as
prior to the upgrade.
Any suggestions?
Thanx & Greets,
Lars - BigLeagueAspirantI have my schedule set up M-F turn on at 15:00 and off at 22:00. Sat and Sun turn on at 09:00 and off at 22:00. This was the same schedule with the previous firmware before the upgrade and it worked flawless. Now with the current firmware after a few minutes of shutting down, it turns itself back on. The WOL is not enabled. Log just states system power on schedule for (next schedule day) 15:00 a few minutes after it shuts down.
- ewokNETGEAR ExpertThat looks like a pretty standard schedule. I'll schedule a daily power on/off on my Pro and see if I can reproduce it.

i have a schedule configured but its disabled. log does not show any scheduled poweruprs in my case. - ewokNETGEAR ExpertMy NAS powered off last night and backup on this morning as expected. I'll leave the schedule in place and see what happens. For those not using a schedule, are you powering off with the power button or through Frontview?
- Hermes_MucAspirantI had no schedule configured and the function was disabled.
My RNP was powered down manually and via Frontview - same result.
In both cases, the system powered up outonomously and without a certain scheme.
Downgrading helped by the way. .2.11 appears to be trouble-free again.
