Web Server Logout Functionality

Hello!

I am trying to figure out a good way to log out of the webserver.... For example, I have a share that acts as a webserver, and it requires login to access from the outside world.

What would be the best way to delete that cookie, or log out once I have put my authentication in?

Thanks!

  • Its logging into the NAS.... The share, via a web browser....

Logging out once logged into the site, like that.

I am not referring to frontview at all, I am referring to a share, that has a website on it, so you can go to xxxxxxxx.com and it goes to my share, you login, and you view the website.

I want to log out of that specific site, without closing the browser.

OK, I misunderstood what you had said above about having a website.

So, just for clarification. You've enabled HTTP access for one of your shares, and then are required to log in to the share to gain access? And now you want to logout as well without shutting down the browser?

It's not something I use, but I just looked at it very quickly on my NAS. Can you not click "Parent Directory" where you are then offered a Frontview style page with a "Logout" option? Or am I still misunderstanding?
  • Yes, I have enabled HTTP access for the share. The share contains index.php and various other "web pages" so there is no default web server showing. No parent directory, no tree structure, a full blown web page.

And I want the functionality for a user to click a link and logout back to the base HTTP share login box.

I guess I am still a bit confused on what you've done.

I am thinking that you have
    (a) created a share, and gave it HTTP/S access
    (b) Put php pages into the share
    (c) are navigating from the browser to the php page in the share

You get the logon when you first access your php page, but are not seeing a logout.

And you would like to know what code to add to your web page to create the logout.

    Is all the above correct?
  • The webserver is already setup and configured. It has PHP too... BUT....

I was hoping to avoid 3rd party login structures, I wanted everything authentication wise handled by the webserver... If it's doable.
