What is a normal CPU Temp

I just bought (2) 314 Readynas box's. One used for local server backups & one offsite for disaster recovery. Most of my Backups jobs all run at night time to not interfere with M-F work load. Both unit's are in rooms that the temp is set for around 74 deg. fahrenheit . Both box's usually have a System temp of right around 100 deg. fahrenheit and the CPU tmpe is right around 135-145 deg. fahrenheit. So what is normal for a box that is running almost 24-7?
The documentation states that the normal operating temp is 0-40c or 32-104f. Do all of these box's run this hot or is it just mine?

  • Operating temperature in the manual refers to environmental operating temperature that is compatible with normal function.
My 316 CPU runs between 38 and 50 Celsius (100 and 123 Fahrenheit) but the ambient temperature is around 19 Celsius, yours is 23 celcius.

Dose the room need to be that warm?
