Win7 explorer crash
I have 3PCs and 2 laptops running Vista through to Win 8.1 which previously had no issues connecting to a Readynas Duo. Recently one of the PC's running Win 7 crashes explorer every time the user tries to access either common shares or a personal share on it. The other Win 7 PC has no issues; as far as I can tell nothing has changed- permissions are in place on the Duo for the shares. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserMaybe run a software verification on Windows? Open a cmd prompt as administrator and enter "sfc /SCANNOW"

- TPdartAspirantOk- tried the sfc command and it returned no errors.
I checked the logon procedure on the affected machine- the network is set to home; the user has a shortcut to the shares on the NAS- when double clicked it brings up the window to enter the username and password; when these are entered and the window disappears, explorer hangs at that point...
Any other thoughts please?
Thanks - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserDid you try logging into the NAS as that user from a different PC?
- TPdartAspirantSorry for the LONG delay in replying- there are no issues on any other machine - simple folder shortcuts work- PC one running Win 8.1 and an exact copy of the PC which fails, running Win 7.
Interestingly the 'damaged' PC can access via IE using an IP and user log on.
Any more guidance?
thanks - TPdartAspirantHi- can anybody help with this issue? I'm having no luck in resolving it.
Thanks - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt must be a PC issue of some sort since the exact copy PC works. Are the network settings identical (e.g, jumbo frames, etc).
If they are identical, then you might need to try Microsoft support. Or reinstall windows on the PC.
