Can not discover ReadyNas Device for use with ReadyCloud

Hey,

Have been using ReadyCloud for a while with the ReadyNas device set up in the home office, worked a treat.

Recently moved the device to a new location inside a large corporate network and can no longer discover the device.

We don't really have any control over the network, simply an office with some data points to access the internet.

So set up a private network which the ReadyNas device is connected to and just use the corporate network for the internet.

Any ideas how to make the ReadyNas work with ReadyCoud in this situation?

Should I be using a proxy?

Thanks heaps.

    Hello Andrew211,

ReadyCloud needs Internet connection as it connects to a server to validate the login details before it allows each user to access the NAS volume. If this is just for local access, you can just need to create each user's login and set permission to the shares..

    Regards,

      Hey,

Yes would be a concern if I didn't know that :-)

Thanks for the reply, it jogged my memory that devices on this network need to have their MAC address registered, even though it's part of our private network, thanks!

So just registered the MAC Address with the network, do you know if there is a way to tell if the ReadyNAS has internet access from the admin area?

      Thanks

        Hi Andrew211,

Unfortunately, there's no internet indicator in the admin page. You can tell if your ReadyNAS has internet access if it can get automatic (remote) updates, list & download the add-ons under the Apps tab, and lastly, connect to remote backup services under the Cloud tab.

        Kind regards,
