AC2000 Wireless Access Point Confusion

I want to use my AC2000 just as an extender from my house to my garden office via the Ethernet cable. So same BT network, same BT password.

Instead it keeps on showing the Netgear-1 wireless network on my PC and I can’t see the BT network to select.

I have enabled Wireless Access Point and applied but makes no difference.

How do I just use it as an extender without having to connect to a different network each time i go into my office?

Thanks

Which AC2000? That is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.

Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Did you follow these instructions?

        Aha. One of them.

Not your typical Nighthawk Wi-Fi 5 (AC) Routers as covered in this section. In fact, not really a router at all, more an AP with router features.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

        Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
