Connect Router To Work VPN

Question

I am trying to configure the Router to connect to my work VPN. I am trying to use a VOIP phone at home while I am connected to the internal domain at work through VPN. This works fine with a softphone and Cisco VPN Client but I want a physical phone in a hard line. Any Help Is Greatly Appreciated.&nbsp;

You didn't specify the model of your router. &nbsp;Most consumer grade Netgear router do not have any built-in VPN client support.

Apologies - I thought it was in the description when I started the thread.&nbsp;AC1900 - C6300BD &nbsp; &nbsp; It does say IPSEC is an option - just not sure to what degree&nbsp;Thanks In Advance

That's probably the IPSEC passthrough option. &nbsp;That only means that it won't block that traffic.

I did read that part. This modem is from my local cable company. Can you suggest a Router with the VPN capability I am looking for?&nbsp;

I'm gonna bet that you are using the Cisco Anyconnect VPN client. &nbsp;This is designed to provide VPN access for the computer it is running on. &nbsp;As such, you won't be able to run it or anything equivalent on a router. &nbsp;It would also probably be against your company's policy to set up VPN access on your router without your company's knowledge. &nbsp;Think of the security implications. &nbsp;If your network is not secure, you will have just opened up the entire company to being hacked.

You really should discuss your needs with your company's IT department. &nbsp;If they support these kinds of requests, they can supply you with the equipment to set up a site-to-site VPN.
