NETGEAR05 WAP - C7000 Nighthawk

Hi all,

There is a wireless access point showing-up on my wireless network broadcasting with the ssd NETGEAR05. I can't access it (don't know the password), and although it is listed in the WAP chart on the routher, there doesn't seem to be any way to configure it.

Anyone know what this is?

Thanks.

Have you checked if its the name of the guest network?

Good thought but I didn’t because I do have a guest network set-up with another id. Was wondering if it might ne associated with my Comcast cable tv service...i know comcast broadcasts a “free” wifi hotspot.

That shouldn't happen with a netgear modem/router. Do you have any close neighbors could be a signal from there router.

That’s possible, but then again would a neighbor’s access point show-up in my config settings? No other nearby wifi does.
