D3600 Loses all settings - no internet
Hi
I have a D3600 modem router. Every so often (I think this is happening when my internet connection drops for a short time as it seems to occur during storms), my internet connection goes away and will not come back. The only way I can get it back is to reset the modem to factory settings, plug in my laptop via ethernet cable and set up the modem from scratch including entering my ISP details etc.
This is obviously not right - has anyone else experienced this? Is it a firmware (running the latest), or hardware issue?
I should add that every time this happens, I plug in my ancient Dynalink modem router which immediately connects to the internet, while my supposedly better Netgear does nothing as it has lost all of its settings!
All help appreciated, but I'm no techie so treat me like an idiot for best results 🙂
Thanks

Re: D3600 Loses all settings - no internet
OK, so last night I setup the 3600 again. I didn't need to do a factory reset this time as it appeared to have done that itself...
Everything set up OK, and I regained internet access but the download speed was around 2mbps.
I reconnected through my other modem router (the old dynalink) and immediately had my normal speeds of ~8mbps.
These issues have all started since I upgraded the firmware to the latest version. Coincidence or dud firmware? I will try downgrading again and see what happens.

Re: D3600 Loses all settings - no internet
Clearly nobody reads this but here's an update anyway.
Downgraded the firmware to 1.0.0.49 - still no good. The thing often fails. All the right lights are on, but there is no connection. A reset brings the connection back but only at 1-3mbps, whereas my Dynalink spins up straight away at 7-8mbps.
Next try is back down to 1.0.0.47 then a warranty claim if that's no good.
