D7000 2.4GHz authentication problem
I have a D7000 modem / router and use both 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz bands.
The 2.4 GHz will not allow connections unless all security is disabled (5GHz is fine).
I have Firmware V1.0.0.32_1.0.1 and have reset the router several times, but the problem occurs approx once a day and seems to be getting worse.
I have read of similar problems with the R7000 but so far seen nothing about the D7000, any ideas please?

Re: D7000 2.4GHz authentication problem
Hi,
The devices on the 2.4GHz connection are a laptop and printer (neither support 5GHz, both support WPA-2(AES)).
Both have worked at times with WPA-2 but lose authentication.
I've also reconfigured other devices (laptop & tablet) which normally connect to the 5 GHz network with WPA-2, to connect on 2.4GHz but authentication is refused.
Over the last 48 hours I've been unable to connect at all to the 2.4GHz network with security enabled (the laptop is now configured to use the guest 2.4GHz without any security).
No problems with signal strengths on either network.

Re: authentication problem
I had an athentication problem after trying to setup both a Netgear wn1000RP and then a BT300 booster - this fixed it
Disconnect any ethernet to pc connection before setting up the booster with wps. Instal booster - Bingo. Then reconnect the ethernet connections.

Re: D7000 2.4GHz authentication problem
Thanks for the help, been away for a couple of days. I have reverted to the 1.0.0.26 firmware and can now connect to 2.4GHz network with WPA-2.
I'll keep monitoring for the next few days and post the results.
It has certainly had some effect as the 2.4 GHz connection had become completely unusable with the old fimware.

Re: D7000 2.4GHz authentication problem
Hello runagall
Has the connection been holding up for you? Have you tried to go back to new firmware? if you want to upgrade to the new firmware you may want to do a factory reset and then upgrade your firmware and then re setup the settings you have.

Re: D7000 2.4GHz authentication problem
Hi,
I thought everything was solved until tonight when the same problem re-surfaced.
This is with the 1.0.0.26 firmware, i've not tried a reset yet but rebooting does not help.
Also found that the previous temporary workaround (Gest account with no security) no longer works, I'm now unable to connect at all over 2.4GHz.
