DG834Gv3 and Multicast
I have a thermostat on my home network. It sends out multicast packets. I am writing an application to receive the multicast packets. If the route from the thermostat to the application DOES NOT go via my DG834Gv3 (firmware 4.01.40) router, everything works fine. If the route from the thermostat to the application DOES go via the router, the packets are lost/blocked in the router - they do not come back out the other side.
Is there a way to enable multicast functionality on this router?
Many thanks for any help.

Re: DG834Gv3 and Multicast
Thank you, but i don't understand. Can you explain a bit further?
Also, if I need a new router, what do I look out for to ensure I get one that will pass multicast packets correctly?

Re: DG834Gv3 and Multicast
loopback - using pc behind the router pointing the WAN of the router hitting the LAN devices where both source and destination is in same LAN / router
