X4S D7800 - USB Drive Detection
Hi all,
Just a quick post regarding USB drive detection on the X4S D7800.
On plugging in my brand new 2TB Seagate Expansion desktop drive, the USB LED would flash on the router but then go out and I could not Create [a] Network Folder in ReadyShare.
I wasted almost a whole day trying to figure this out. I tried numerous fixes including deleting and reformatting to NTFS (using Windows 10 Disk Management) and to ext3 (using MiniTool Partition Wizard) with no luck.
To cut a long story short, I noticed that my drive had been flagged as a GPT partition in Disk Management. Searching on the internet provided a means to convert the GPT to MBR. Once this had been done, my drive worked perfectly... well, this solution worked for me, anyway 🙂
This post doesn't necessarily need a reply. I just thought I'd share a possible solution for people experiencing USB drive problems.
Cheers!
P.S.
Firmware V1.0.1.10
