D7000 no logon page availiable

I have been trying to get my D7000 v1 to connect to the internet (fixed wireless nbn) with no luck, so I I performed a factory reset. Now when I browse to routerlogin.net, I get a message"checking Internet connection please wait" for about a minute, then "configuring the internet connection" "you are not connected to the internet"
"select country"
With no selection box, or any method of moving forward. I can ping the router, and genie finds it, but can't find the firmware version, so I I can't update firmware via genie. Naturally I can't log onto the router to update firmware either. Is there a way forward from here? Im out of ideas.

Thanks for the response,
I've been through the process in the link you provided. If you read that thread you will see there was no solution.

What I see there are an incomplete description, and enough errors in
IP addresses to account for any failures.  Hardly a valid impossibility
proof.

Your "tftp" commands lack the required "-i" option.  Otherwise,
assuming that the IP address of the Ethernet interface in the Windows
system really was "192.168.0.x" (1 < x < 255), they look ok.

That doesn't explain the "Connect request failed" error, however.
That error suggests that the D7000 was not in a TFTP-receptive mode
(mood?).  Which makes some sense, because it is partially functional, so
I doubt that it'd spontaneously drop into its TFTP recovery mode.

I lack actual experience, so I know nothing, but I'd try fiddling
with its Reset button, in an attempt to coax the D7000 into receptivity.

Perhaps indicated by a steady or flashing "amber" Power indicator?

I might also try varying the timing of the TFTP-PUT operation in the
start sequence, in an attempt to find a sensitive moment.

No bets, but I'd play with it for a while before capitulating.  A
forum search for "TFTP" might turn up some success stories involving
such recalcitrance overcome by clever (or lucky) technique.

The D7000 is a DSL modem/router. NBN just means "Australian Internet".

What is an NBN network and is my NETGEAR DSL modem router compatible? | Answer | NETGEAR Support

While Netgear lists all manner of things as being "compatible" with NBN in that article, in reality this often means that the device will work as a router. You have to bypass the modem bit and use something else as a modem.

In your case, with Fixed Wireless you will see that it lists modem/routers and routers. To me that says that you need to connect the D7000 as a router.

Visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Check the section in the manual Set Up the Modem Router for Cable or Fiber Service.

Why are you playing with TFTP? Is the power LED telling you that the D7000 is bust?

By the way, Alt+Print Screen as a great way of getting screen grabs. Much better than fiddling about with a camera.

Did you read, or look at the picture which was attached to, "Message

Re: D7000 no logon page availiable

hi @antinode ,

I've tried with and without the -i (binary transmission). with the same result. I'm assuming I have to be able to ping the router to do the TFTP. I only mention because I am able to get the router into a alternate state on startup, by holding the reset button on boot. I get a flashing white then orrage power light, until I reboot again. but in this state I cannot ping the router.

I've tried with:

tftp2.exe from shadow software, following thse instructions:

https://kb.netgear.com/19841/Reinstall-the-firmware-on-a-router-without-the-setup-CD-recovery-tool

and TFTPd64.exe

and windows command line with no result, at every stage of reboot etc.

I have set my IP to static 192.168.0.2 gateway is 192.168.0.1

I'm ready to try a serial connection, just to see whats going on on the boot cycle. I saw a post detailing the process, but I cant seem to find it again. any idea where I could find the details? Really I just need the pin out order for the jumpers.

I've found several people with the same error, but nobody has got further than this, so it's not promising.

I said that it was wrong without that option, not that that would
"explain the "Connect request failed" error".

I'd expect so. "ping" (ICMP) is pretty basic; more basic than a TFTP
server.

> I've tried with: [...]

I wouldn't expect much different results from different TFTP client
programs.  Command-line programs tend to give better error messages, but
not much else.

Should be fine.

> [...] I saw a post detailing the process, [...]

I've never tried it, so I know nothing, but I'd expect a Web search
for terms like the following to find some details:

      Netgear serial
