Netgear Genie 2.4.26 Huge Window Size Windows 10
I just updated to Genie 2.4.26 and now the windows for it us huge (i.e. the window is larger then my desktop). Even the menu when you right click on the icon in the bottom right corner section is larger than the normal.
Is this a known issue, or something got haywire with my Genie installation?
Thanks.

Hi @hyperlance,
Please make sure the option to run the program in 640x480 screen resolution is not checked. You can check that that by right clicking on the desktop icon > Properties > Compatibility tab > Uncheck Run program in 640x480 screen resolution > Apply > OK. Then restart the application.

Hi @hyperlance,
Please try checking the option "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".

Im having the same issues after the latest upgrade

Someone at Netgear is definitely over compensating for a lack of something. That is one big app window.
I have feeling that the PC version was updated with a mobile version.

Having same issue. Have tried both solutions below, as well as utilizing the "Troubleshoot Compatability" Win10 function. Have Uninstalled- reinstalled several times. Have there been any updates to this issue?
- madazAspirantWill look at that tonight, though i had mucked around with a lot of settings
- madazAspirantSounds like it would be a .dll issue or something has been changed in the registry

I just updated the Netgear genie and I'm also having that issue with the large GUI. None of the suggestions worked as well, lets hope that the developers are near a solution.

Seems like I've found a workaround (not a proper solution). I hope this helps the devs at Netgear/Genie.
Out of my three computers, this problem never affected the ones that had 1920X1080 resolution -- I had this problem only with the desktop that had a 2560X1080 monitor (All my PCs are Windows 10). So that gave me the initial clue.
Here's my workaround:
1. Exited Netgear Genie (by rightclicking the tray icon and choosing exit)
2. Went to my "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Appdata\Local\NETGEARGenie\" folder
2. Opened the config.ini file in this folder with Notepad
3. Changed the third line so that it reads:
screen_resolution=1920*1080
4. Saved and closed the file.
5. Right-clicked the config.ini file, opened the properties and made it read-only
6. Opened Genie and it's looking normal!
I'm calling it workaround because of Step #5. I've found that if I don't make it read-only that the resolution changed back to 2560*1080 (which actually IS the resolution of my monitor) and the huge windows problem returned.
As usual, please do this at your responsbility and I am not liable if anything gets broken.
The main problem is I guess the app wasn't designed properly to work in Ultrawide (21:9) or high resolutions -- I hope this gets corrected soon.
Hope this helps.
