Netgear Genie Too Small

Have been using and liking Genie with my home network.

Just bought a Dell XPS 13 laptop. Installed Genie. It appears in the center of the screen but it is tiny. It is about 2 inches square on a 13 inh screen and the text is too small to be easliy read.

Is there any way to make it larger?

What worked for me:

Check the 'Run this program in compatability mode for: Windows Vista'

Be sure to kill it via Task Manager, then restart.

Re: Netgear Genie Too Small

I'm having the same problem.  I just purchased a new Dell Inspiration 7000 4k video and the genie screen is so small.  Can't figure out how to expand or make larger and it's too small to read.  Any suggestions on making larger?

Re: Netgear Genie Too Small

Hi @Abby123 and @oguidry,

You may try the steps below as a work around and check if it fixes the issue.

1. Right click on the NETGEAR Genie app icon on the desktop and select Properties.

2. Click on the Compatibility tab.

3. Check the box for Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.

4. Click Apply then OK.

5. Exit the NETGEAR Genie app by right clicking on the icon on the system tray and select Exit.

6. Open the app again and check if it worked.

7. If it did not, you may follow the same steps from 1 to 2 then check the box for Run in 640 x 480 resolution and follow steps 4 to 6.

Sorry but these did not work. The new device notifications are also very small. Other thoughts?

Re: Netgear Genie Too Small

Hi @oguidry,

The current NETGEAR Genie desktop application has not yet been coded to be DPI aware which may cause these issues with high resolution screens. I recommend keeping an eye out on the next update for the app in the event that a fix has been pushed out.

I also failed to get the Big Picture, but at least I have the Genie back.

Is the next update going to solve the Windows 10 and resoultion issues?

Re: Netgear Genie Too Small

on a semi related topic....does anyone know how to scale the text in the drop down boxes for sites like amazon or ebay?  the text appear really small in these boxes.

my display is already set to 250% (recommeded) but the characters in these boxes still appear very small.

thanks!

Re: Netgear Genie Too Small

This program that is how it should be called should auto-resize acording to the definition of the screen!

an app should never appeared and progrm is a program period!
