Hello, i recently got a replacement for one S3300-28X-PoE+ (GS728TXP) and it is called GS728TXPv3.
The GUI is completely different and i cannot find the "Stacking" like in the GS728TXP (non v3).
Also i cannot install the Firmware 6.6.4.28, since it is running on 6.2.1.32 and when i try to load the 6.6.4.28 i get an Error Message. I Assume it is caused by the filexetension: s3300v6.6.4.28.stk VS. GS728_752TXPv3_V6.2.1.32.bix
The little Display on the v3 is also missing, replaced by a USB Port.
I am a little confused because it was solt with this name: "Netgear S3300-28X-PoE+ (GS728TXP)" from the Seller.
Am i missing something here? Aren't those two compatible for Stacking?

I have a GS728TXP (non v3) which I guess is older as it is stated as "EOL" whereas it seems the v3 version is not. Latest firmware is 6.6.4.28 for my old non 3 version. The v3 version seems to have different firmware versions where it *seems* 6.2.1.32 is the latest.

As I have the non v3 version. I for sure have a "stack" command. When I have entered global config mode... Yes I use the CLI only... (Maybe not the best security as it only supports telnet. But it is a dedicated VLAN for mgm)
Most Netgear Smart Manged Switches - including these latest GS728TXPv3 and GS752TXPv3 models - were never stacking capable in any way. Select (much older) switch models (defined EOL because these are no longer orderble from the factory because chips or other components were no longer available, this also implies Netgear does not implement any feature changes or enhancements, only security updates for the time being remain available - term often misunderstood by some Netgear customers) like some 3300-series switches (permtting wally bain is right) had some limited stacking capailities, within the same model version line, and under some special conditions eg. with some models of the 4300 Series.

These are firmware version numbers, not explicitly nor implicitly defining an exact feature set.
Only the published official Data Sheets are legally binding.
