Used M5300 blinking yellow POWER light and no CLI access

Hi,

I have just bought a used M5300-52G-POE+ but after turning it on the Power LED starts off as solid yellow and then changes to flashing yellow. None of the RJ45 ports appear to work but the LEDs for 49T, 50T and 49F and 50F are lit up solid yellow.

I have tried to get into the CLI through the USB serial port but all that shows up is

"Uboot M5300 VerNo=1.0.0.5"

whenever I reboot it.

The USB cable I am using is just one that I had as one wasn't provided with it.

The Stack ID displays as 1.

Is there anything I am missing here or could there be a fault with this device?

Thanks

Re: Used M5300 blinking yellow POWER light and no CLI access

Hi @cp_chris,

Welcome to the Community!

Try to Erase the Current Configuration then reboot the device, if the issue persists try to activate the backup image then reboot the device again. The steps can be found here.

Kind regards,

Re: Used M5300 blinking yellow POWER light and no CLI access

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually contacted the seller and returned the device in the end. It may be broken compeltely, or maybe those steps could fix it.

Not my problem any more though

Thanks

Chris

So no other options ... XMODEM the -correct- image over a serial line, but not before setting the highest baud rate available on the switch. FMI: here (read the full thread please on a similar switch model).
