VLAN Configuration Not Getting Applied and Saved
Hi,
We use NetGear Switch M4200 Poe Switch in our lab. Recently after Firmware Update on this system, VLAN configuration doesn't get Applied or Saved (Logged in as admin). Has any one faced this issue and found any solution to this ?
The firmware currently on the system is as below :
The VLAN configuration were working properly before this update. Now we have rely only on VLAN 1 and cannot segregate our switch to different VLAN networks.
Any inputs, to get this working would be really useful. Please let us know.

Re: VLAN Configuration Not Getting Applied and Saved
Welcome to the community! 🙂
Kindly try to clear the cache of the browser you are using or try to use Incognito mode in Chrome then check if the VLAN settings will get applied.
Also, you can try to use another PC or laptop to isolate the problem then check again if the VLAN settings will get applied.
Try also to reboot the M4200 switch then check if the same problem will occur.

Re: VLAN Configuration Not Getting Applied and Saved
Hi DaneA,
The second and third steps have been done many a time. It doesn't have any impact on the working.
Tried this using Chrome for the first time, to make sure it doesn't have any cached data. The behavior is the same. Attached some screen shot below :
Before Apply:
After Apply:
This perfectly working before the FW update, unfortunately, don't remember the FW version number before. With this current Firmware it does nothing.
Do you think it could be FW related ?
Is there any other method, we can check if the Switch is getting VLAN configuration commands ?
Having you seen this happen in any other customer setup ?
Please let us know, we can try these any steps to fix this issue.
What would be process to start support help, where someone from you team can help remote login to debug this issue ? Let us know about this too.
Thanks
Deepak

Re: VLAN Configuration Not Getting Applied and Saved
Have you tried to access the the M4200 switch via CLI? If not yet, kindly try it and check if it would respond.
You can open a support ticket with the NETGEAR Support Team here at anytime for further hardware check. Kindly state what happened and the status of your M4200 switch.

Re: VLAN Configuration Not Getting Applied and Saved
Hi DaneA,
Did the configuration of VLAN through CLI and it does work. VLAN Configurations done from CLI, are visible in UI too. At least this CLI access is working, this is a good option.
But VLAN manipulations from UI doesn't take any effect. Having UI would be really useful and easy. How can this be resolved.
Awaiting your advise.
Thanks
Deepak

Re: VLAN Configuration Not Getting Applied and Saved
I suggest you to perform a factory reset on the M4200 switch through the CLI by using the clear config command on Privileged EXEC mode then reconfigure the switch from scratch. Also, check if you will be able to access the web-GUI then configure VLANs using the web-GUI.
