VLANS Not working GS748TS
Hello,
I have a GS748TS that I am trying to configure VLANs on.
I am running into a small problem......
Under Switching --> VLAN --> Advanced --> VLAN Membership
Im not seeing the list of ports to allocate to the VLAN I have just created (VLAN 2) as you can see from this screenshot
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vpr55idhn13t5bk/netgear.jpg?dl=0
When I load the VLAN Membership page the whole web browser locks up for the switch and I cant then click on any other tabs within the switch. I have to completly refresh the webpage and log in again.
I have tried this from different browsers, IE, Firefox, Chrome with no luck.
Any ideas please? I dont want to have to go and buy a new switch when the feature is clearly there when I think its more than probably just your software not playing ball with updated web browsers.
Thanks
Ross

Re: VLANS Not working GS748TS
Hi rd228,
Kindly answer the questions below:
a. What is the current firmware version of the GS748TS?
b. Have you tried to reboot the GS748TS? Does the web-GUI of the GS748TS still lock-up after reboot?
c. Have you tried to reset the GS748TS back to factory default settings?
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
DaneA

Re: VLANS Not working GS748TS
Known issue on that model.. see http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23841
I got mine working by doing this on Windows 10.
Go to start > run. Type iexplore
Wait till the old iexplore shows up. Now click the setting icon on the top right (bearing) and go to compatibility view settings.
Add in the IP address of your switch in there.
Now log out of the switch on any other browser and open iexplore again and log into the switch... you should see the missing section.

Re: VLANS Not working GS748TS
Great,
Thanks for the reply....I also found this article from Netgear who are aware of the issue and have resolved it by users having to download a portable version of and out dated version of firefox.
Are netgear going to provide a firmware fix to address this issue? From a company who provide not only switches but also securiy equipment for networks I wouldnt of thought that netgear would encourage its users to use outdated software (which is in secure) to get into their gear on production networks.
Netgear??........
