D3600 loses all settings on every reboot

Hi,
After upgrade to version V1.0.0.64_1.0.1 D3600 loses all settings on every reboot. Could you provide instruction how to downgrade this firmware to version V1.0.0.47_1.0.1 on this device ?

       Download the old firmware kit, and install it?

      Each attempt of downgrade ends with follwoing message: "Firmware Upgrade Failed.Please Check your File".

  • This is the latest security feature that Netgear is introducing in their firmware for all consumer level devices. It protects the user from having their user ID and password settings for their ISP login retrieved in the event that their router is stolen.

      If it is feature how I can configure router to remember settings after reboot ?

           I assume that that fellow was making a joke.  Did you find it funny?

           Hmmm.  Have you tried one of the newer older versions, like, say,
        V1.0.0.61_1.0.1?  I know nothing, but perhaps smaller backward steps
        would work differently/better.

           If a conventional installation isn't permitted, then perhaps a more
        brute-force method, like the TFTP method, could be used, instead.

  • It seems to be massive problem.Same situation here.Tried everything with no success.Hope Netgear guys provide us a solution as soon as possible.For now I replaced  it with an older one.

  • I'm having same issue. after upgrade to V1.0.0.64_1.0.1 firmware it loses settings after avery reboot. I've trid to downgrade to V1.0.0.61 via web or TFTP but with no success.
  • Ref: D3600-V1.0.0.64_1.0.1. Firmware. Win10, Hi All, for what it is worth I have also tried all the above with no success. I have installed a firmware backup which gets the router D3600 working but if I disconnect the power, then yes, all the setting disappears. Every now and then something happens with the connection from the exchange which causes the connection to disconnect. I can live with this if I am home as I can start the router and go through the setup process again but this is no good if the connection goes down and it is just my wife and kids at home. They will be without the internet. Please Netgear, I hope you are listening as this makes my router virtually unusable.

        There is bug in this firmware version, there is no solution that work.

  • Whats the script on this, whens the fix comming, is there a fix comming, what else will the fix break?

      Buonasera anchio ho avuto lo stesso problema, ma oggi grazie hai contatti con l'assistenza tecnica ho risolto il problema sono riuscito a mettere la versione 61 , quindi consiglio di aprire un ticket con l'assistenza che vi aiuterà a risolvere, le informazioni sono riservate no è possibile divulgare la soluzione a tutti, richiede conoscienze telnet.

  • Even we have the same issue in our router after upgrading to firmware V1.0.0.64_1.0.1.

    I have tried to downgrade to firmware V1.0.0.59_1.0.1 but it fails.

    Any help to resolve this would be helpful.

      Io ho risolto grazie all'assistenza tecnica che mi ha mandato istruzioni ed un file intermedio ed anche un documento di accettazione delle responsabilità: Quindi chiunqua abbia questo problema contatti l'assistenza.

        Buonasera.

        Dopo contatto telefonico con il supporto tecnico hanno mandato la procedura anche a me, ma ad un certo punto mi dicono di caricare il fw versione 1.0.0.63 scaricabile dal sito ftpNetgear. Le chiedo se lei sa l'indirizzo dove posso trovare questo file o se glielo hanno inviato direttamente via mail.

      The support service is useless, i wrote many times and never solve the problem.

      I'm unable to call number phone because i live in Italy, why support service don't help me online?

      The support service help only american users?

      Maybe i'll never buy netgear products.

        Ciao anche io vivo in Italia    ho aperto un ticket via email,cè voluto del tempo piu di una settimana ma mi hanno aiutato ed ho risolto.

    I have the same issue but i cannot find where to open a ticket.

  • New firmware has been released, however i can't even install it.  If i try to upload via the web ui it says "Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file.". When I try to  check for updates it says "No Internet connection is detected. The router cannot check the NETGEAR server for updated firmware. After setting up your Internet connection, go to the Router Upgrade screen to check for updated firmware.". The TFTP method doesn't even work. The router is probably semi-bricked at this point.
