Incompatibility of Armor across multiple router and associated devices (RBR850 & Nighthawk MR60)
I run two seperate home locations, one with a Nighthawk router and one with an Orbi router. The locations are miles apart. Each router has Armor loaded. The same mobile devices can frequent either of these locations. When one uses the Armor software license to protect a device from one router the other router does not recognise the fact that that mobile device is PROTECTED. The problem became more clear when I during the past year upgraded the rumour license with Bitdefender Total security and the full VPN license. The VPN software license only extends from one of the Armor router licenses and not from the other. E.g., the Armor license is unique and does not co-operate with the other Armor license.
I recently logged a case with Netgear where the problem became apparent. To solve the case, an independent Bitdefender Total security family license was purchased which now protects all the devices in the same manner. I will let the Armor license lapse as I do not need these anymore.
What was quirky though is that before we (Netgear support person and i) got to that understanding is that I renewed one of the Armor licenses (it had 25 days to go before the license expired) to see whether that would solve the problem. When I 2 days later cancelled the Armor license Netgear refused to REFUND me the money for that license. No clear reason has been given todate. I am all for a good product but their customer sales liaison (excluding the support person) and commitment to the customer is not the best (to put that very mildly).
