HP Micro Server
Hi,
I have a Ultra 4 NAS with 6TB of storage.
Work are giving me a HP Micro Server with a Hardware raid card - so i can do a raid 5.
I wanted replicate from the NAS to the HP. I know the netgear to netgear can use the replication software - however i have been given the NAS for free so want to use it.
Configuration \ Support aside is the HP Micro Server better then the Ultra 4 - performance wise?
Any thoughts?
Sam

Re: HP Micro Server
The N40L? It would out perform the Ultra 4. You can also take it up to 16GB of ram. Faster CPU, more flexible in tweaking hardware, and much cheaper too, though maybe not quite as pretty looking.
I'm running NexentaStor on one. It uses ZFS, you don't need a hardware RAID card, ZFS takes care of all that for you. The ReadyDATA business platform is based on Illumos/NexentaStor.
