Ram upgrade for Radynas 626X Model: RN626X
Does anyone know if you can upgrade the ram in the readynas 626X I know it comes with two 4gb 1Rx8 DDr 4 2133 ECC memory from Transcend and there are 4 slots.
Can it take 8gb chips?
I know the 628x comes with 16gb of ram
You can use two 8GB DIMMs to make it 16GB. These DIMMs work well for my 626X: Supermicro 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Server Memory (MEM-DR480L-SL01-EU21) made by Samsung (Manufacturer Part Number M391A1G43DB0-CPB).

Hello mckeondoor,
Both RN626X and RN628X do have the same memory 8GB DDR4 ECC please refer to the data sheet here. Memory expansion are normally done on rack mount NAS however on the desktop type if there are slots there available then it may be possible however it will be in your own risk.
Note: Netgear do not recommend changing hardware components since warranty may be void and deny support.

Thank you Marty_M I know this but was seeing if anyone upgraded these units I wanted to buy about 10 more for my office but I am going to go with Qnap since netgear does not have any answers or support upgrade I need a nas that can do more then the stock 8gb can offer
