I have just purchased from Ebay (UK) a ReadyNAS 106 running firmware 6.0.8 but, as most of you can guess, it is no longer possible to upgrade the firmware online, the only downloadable firmware that seems to be available is v6.10.9 which is not recommended.
However, the safe choice version to upgrade to is v6.2.5, which I cannot find on this website.
I would be grateful if someone could post a link to where the v6.2.5 (arm) firmware resides.

Also, I have already searched Netgear Support and the ReadyNAS community, inwhich I found something written by a poster in German. Hence, my request for someone to send me a direct link to ReadyNAS firmware v6.2.5 (arm) because all I can find in Support are downloads for v6.10.8 and v6.10.9, which I cannot currently be used for my RN102.
As you pointed out, I had to go out into Google, rather than search Netgear Support directly, and so I found OS 6.2.5, unzipped and directly installed it. I could keep downloading and updating the incremental updates, until I reach OS 6.10.9, but I don't see any benefits in going any further.

There have been lot of bug fixes and security updates since 6.2.5 was released back in 2015. So I do suggest that you move up to current firmware, which is 6.10.9.

Your suggestion does make a lot of sense and I may run with it in the very near future, but for now I want to get to know the RN102 a bit better before doing anymore firmware updates. However, I will download OS 6.5.2 and 6.10.9 and store them on my PC for now.
You see (and if you remember), I'm primarily a RNDuo v2.0 user and I have four of them but now I also have an RN102 which I found surprisingly easy to setup, compared to the RNDuo v2.0. And even though there are no longer any online setup or upgrade wizards available for this device, it was still very easy to setup and use.
Another surprising thing is that the RN range of NAS's do not carry the same premium or rarity value the Duo v2.0's seem to command on Ebay, e.g. I was bidding on a v2.0 and the price went up far higher than the device was worth, the winning bid was £89.00 ($110.19). However, a week or so later, I put in a bid for the RN102 and surprisingly I was the only bidder so I got it for £55.00 ($68.10) + postage.
And finally, the cost of WD Red Plus HDs seem to have fallen a bit, in fact the price I paid for a 4TB Red HD in 2016 was approx. £114.00, while just this week (Nov 2023) I paid £104.00 for a 4TB Red Plus HD. (NB: price paid includes 20% VAT/Sales Tax).
Since many things have changed since 6.5.2, you really should update to the latest OS version before you "get to know it".
