ReadyNas 312 : any disk detected

hi all
So here I am playing around with my nas and 2*1To , I received with this except that after finishing my tests etc ...
A friend gave me two HDD segeate baracuda st2000dm001 which are ine the official compatible list!
So I have format them and put them in th nas except that here I can no longer access the admin interface nas: s
On RAIDar:
LED is blue

I want to clarify that I have format them on my pc with free partion easus and with seagate discwizard

It's 1 hour I try to do a factory reset by following this tutorial: http://kb.netgear.fr/app/answers/detail ... -duo-v2%3F
1) turn off the nas
2) press the reset button and turned on nas
3) that the LEDs are lit (3LED) released the reset button
4) with the backup button to set the LED disk 1
5) press the reset button to confirm
6) pressed the button to start the backup process?

The nas turns off and on again with the on / off button that blinks constantly
what is his? How can I be sure that I was able manipulation?
Anyway its not work, on RAIDar I ve got boot message then the message any disc detected!
I can ping the nas but not access to the admin interface

After too tempted to do a factory default.
The nas started in boot loop, I sent in warranty and I received new yesterday.
I put in the hard drives I launched a factory default but always same thing, any disk detected

How to know if the factory default is launched?
The disk 1 Led is on and power LED blinks

thanks you in advance for your help

Re: ReadyNas 312 : any disk detected

Your instructions are for the wrong product - you have a RN312, not a duo v2. Use the instructions in the hardware manual (http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... ch2015.pdf)

The software is also quite different from the v2, you will likely want to read through the manual here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... ch2015.pdf

One option is to connect the drives to a PC (USB adapters are fine), and delete the partitions (which is NOT the same as reformatting). Then install the drives into tht NAS with it powered down. IT will then do a factory install.

The instruction are the same 🙂

I have already read the manual but can't resolve my problem.

I have already connect the drives to PC and delete partition with with seagate discwizard

Re: ReadyNas 312 : any disk detected

There is more than one partition - did you get them all? Usually its fastest to use Microsoft's disk management (right click on computer and click "manage").

Not sure what you mean in step 6, that isn't in the RN312 boot menu instructions.

Did you try RAIDar 6? It might give you better clues on what is happening.

Ok. I thought it might show some more details.

Have you run seatools against the drives?

It doesn't see them at all? Or just doesn't recognized them as Seagate?

If the latter, you can still run the generic tests.

If the former, try WDC lifeguard, and use it's generic tests.

Re: ReadyNas 312 : any disk detected

Well, again formatting them is a bad idea. What you want to do is delete all partitions, return them to a fully unformatted state. With disk manager, you do that by deleting any volumes it sees on the drive.

WDC lifeguard should let you run generic short/long tests on a seagate drive.

Re: ReadyNas 312 : any disk detected

Can you directly connect the drive to the PC (Sata or eSata)?

Re: ReadyNas 312 : any disk detected

If seatools won't see these drives when directly connected with SATA, then I would contact Seagate.
