Readynas 1500 factory reset and other problems
Hello from Germany!
I try to bring my old RD1500 back to life.
Now 4 x 500GB HDDs are installed and since more than 2h raidar shows "HDD test running"
Im using the german Raidar 6.5.0 and the correct message is: "Festplatten werden getestet"
Any hint about the remaining time for the HDD test?
Admin page is not accessible and no firmware rel is displayed.
What to do in this case? Waiting? Power down or (factory-)reset?
FYI:
I try to access the admin page from a W7 PC, that works fine for my very old Readynas Duo V1.
So the connection to the RD1500 is NOT a cert or SMB problem
Thanks and best regards
Peter

Re: Readynas 1500 factory reset and other problems
Two more pics from RAIDar and Frontview.
RAIDar shows only two drives - in bay 2 and 3 - while frontview reports four drives.
I cant create a new volume. What to do in this case?
Thanks for your help and best regards

One aspect is the age of the drives (2007-2008).
- Have you downloaded the log zip file and looked in there for problems?
- Is the NAS set up to run XRAID? (likely it is, if you didn't change that during the factory reset - and that requires RAIDar 4.3.8).
BTW, RAIDar 4.3.8 should run if you have a compatible Java JRE. A link to one that works it here:

Re: Readynas 1500 factory reset and other problems
It sounds like the NAS is running into errors on the other two drives, making the drive test take a long time and making them unavailable for volume creation.
