Remove inactive volume to use the disk.
I decided to add more hard drives in to my RN104, a process I hoped that an X-RAID would do with ease. I already had two 1TB WD Red hard drives in it, and I added two 4TB WD Red hard drives to bays 3 and 4. Now I get this message - Remove inactive volume to use the disk. Disk#1,2,3,4, and the colour of my hard drives on the ReadyNAS are now red. Firmware is 6.6.0. It has now been Resyncing for the last 48 hrs.
I'm not an expert, and NO, I have not made a back-up. This NAS is my back-up!!!

The NAS is your backup if the primary copy of your data is on another device.
Redundant RAID levels such as X-RAID provide redundancy not backup.
Can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

How long should I expect to wait for an answer from you?

Sounds like you should contact support. This looks like it could be a data recovery situation.

Can you point me as to where I find 'support'? UK based.
What was the problems you detected from the logs?
