I originally tried that and had problems,it was easy to set up in bridge mode I followed a really easy guide but still no white internet light.hence why I just wanted a simple modem.

Checked for connection and it says you are not connected to the internet.do I want netgear installation to assist?

Fair enough. once the XR500 has run a test for your connection it will ask for your ISP username and password.

I would like seperate 2.4 and 5 please.it never asked for user name and password.its just on a configuring your internet connection page

It will after its done configuring, also when asked you will see a tick box to have one network name untick that

I clicked yes I want it to configure and it again checked for internet for awhile and then problem detecting the internet again.

Is the XR500 plugged into Lan 1 on the BT modem and into the yellow port on the XR500? Try again to see if it will get settings, if not we can do it manually.

Yes it is three green lights plugged into lan 1

I’ve typed in my new password and two security questions.im now on set up wifi

I’m not at that stage yet it’s now asking me to set up channels two mins

Did you do the internet setup? On wifi untick the box and it will seperate the wifi into two SSID's

Unchecked the box and set names to channels and passwords,done.now I’m stuck spinning on personalise your router.both channels I created are there.with a spinning circle below.

It should did you select I want to set up my router? Instead of auto, also dont refresh browser. If you use an adblocker make sure thats turned off for the router setup and login by the way.

Yes I selected I want to set up.ive already refreshed browser and lost connection with the router dashboard.oddly light is still orange but I selected 5ghz Wi-Fi channel and it connected back.im now on no new firmware.please connect internet port and retry.current ver v2.3.2.22
