Iv just bought a nighthawk xr1000 pro gaming router to replace my spectrum isp router I get 1gbs service my speeds on my old router though isp speeds wired 500mbs and and WiFi was 200-300mbs i have all cat 6 and higher Ethernet cables to all my equipment and consoles and I bought this to get way better speeds or so I thought since I set it up Iv only been getting 100mbs-110mbs wired and 100mbs WiFi why is my new router running so slow how to I fix this to increase my speeds Iv tried setting my with all twords gaming and there was no change what settings am I missing to have my speeds be upward of my gb service I check what I got directly from modem to console wired and it was 800mbs and up so my modem has the juice bought this new router to get most out my isp service since the spectrum tech recommended this to increase my speeds closer to 1gbs but so far I’m just frustrated and upset and have been on phone with my isp and Netgear both haven’t been much help can somebody help me get my expensive new router working top performance please because it isn’t supposed to be 100mbs wired that was crazy and WiFi was even slower
It isn't easy to spot the problem buried in that slab of unpunctuated text – something to do with slow traffic on your network? – so can we start with the usual boilerplate questions?
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The make and model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

The modem as I said is spectrum modem EN2251 and it’s not a modem router combo just a modem as I stated before I had a spectrum router before I switched out my router but Iv listed my firmware 1.0.0.64 and now what my modem is all my cables are cat 6 my internet service speed is 1gbs and if I run a cable right from modem to device and run speed test I’m getting 800mbs and hight straight from modem biut when I hook my nighthawk up my speeds wired are only 100mbs and WiFi is 50mbs
