I'd suggest connecting the Xbox to the XR500, otherwise you won't be able to take advantage of all the benefits of DumaOS and the XR500.
You'd expect it to change the Xbox's IP, as it's a different router. This shouldn't cause you any problems though.
Once you've done that, I'd also suggest going to the DumaOS interface by going to 192.168.1.1 in the web browser of a device connected to the XR. Then, go to System Information and copy the XRs WAN IP. Go to your ISP router/modems interface and put this IP in the DMZ. That should resolve the NAT problems.

There is a separate community for Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers. You might get more and better answers posting your question there. Here is the link: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-Routers/bd-p/en-home-nighthawk-pro-gaming-rout...

Re: Pro gaming xr500
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
How is the xbox connected? Wired or wireless?
