AC2400--Readyshare via SMB failing
I have a Mac Mini running 10.6.8 and an iBook G3 running 10.4.11. I have been using SMB to connect to a Seagate USB drive attached to the router. This has been a primary means of file transfer between the Macs. Yesterday, one and then the other Mac have failed to connect to the drive using smb://readyshare which had always worked previously.
I have rebooted the Macs but the problem persists. How should I proceed at this point?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Mark Harrison

Re: AC2400--Readyshare via SMB failing
I managed to login to the Netgear software and tried to "Safely Remove USB Device."
This is the response:
The device cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later.
Don't know why the device would be busy unless it is bound up the failed access command(s).
Do I need to shut down the router in order to remove the device?
I also noticed that my firmware needs to be updated. Currently at Router Firmware Version
V1.2.0.42_1.0.1. Can I skip to V1.2.0.76_1.0.1, which is identified as the latest version, or do I need to do each intervening update along the way.
Should I remove the USB drive before updating the firmware?
Thanks for your help.
