Best Current Router

Hello. I’m moving into a 1 bedroom apartment. I’ve never had my own router, and the complex is recommending the NETGEAR NightHawk Smart WiFi Router (R6700)-AC1750. I’m not even sure what I need to look for in a router, but in my research I see this is an old router. I would like at least 5g for my phone and for good WiFi in the apartment. I’m not sure what numbers to look for. The TV will not be using this WiFi. It is Direct TV. Currently I have Xfinity services and they have been great, but I’m moving. I don’t have any high tech stuff just a cell and several laptops. Merry Christmas.

The 6700 has 5Ghz support though it's older wifi tech and limited on speed and performanced. 

Something to check out would be NGs RAX series of routers or maybe a RS series.

Thanks. It’s a small 1 bedroom apartment. Maybe 500 sg ft. There are walls but just a few.

OK, Try something RAX, maybe a RAX50 or 80 series would work good for you.
