Firmware update failure for R8000P version

I have been trying off and on since I got this router to update the firmware, it is currently sitting at V1.4.1.50_1.3.10.  I have tried the automatic update and manual upload to install R8000P-V1.4.1.68_1.3.28, when using the GUI, I get an error saying it couldn't update the firmware, when I do a manual upload, it seems to go quite quickly, then reboots, but does not update firmware.  This is mildly annoying as my ASSUMPTION is there was a reason why newer firmware revisions were built.

Good luck getting any resolution. I have been working for weeks on resolving this and searching this board etc...with no luck.

Might as well return it now if you can and buy a new router as you will never get past that update if it hasn't worked.
